A beautiful, healthy smile begins with not only a regular dental routine, but with frequent visits to your dentist for preventive and general dentistry services. Wood Family Dentistry provides a full range of general dentistry services, as well as the knowledge and insight to improve and proliferate the oral health of you and your family.

Services we offer include, but are not limited to:

Periodontal Services

When left untreated, periodontal disease will slowly destroy the supporting bones in your mouth. This is why early treatment and prevention for periodontal disease is so important. During your routine dental exam, Dr. Wood will make sure you are receiving the highest standard of care to help in preventing periodontal disease from developing.

Digital X-Rays

Dental x-rays are a great preventive, diagnostic tool that provides important information not visible during a routine dental exam. By using Digital X-Rays, the radiation is reduced 80% compared to traditional x-rays.

Sealants

Sealants are a very efficient and successful method for preventing decay on the biting surfaces of teeth. Sealants are made of a flowable resin that is applied to the deep pits and fissures of teeth protecting them from harmful acids and plaque buildup commonly found in the mouth.

Composite Filling

When a tooth is affected by decay, fractures, or cracks, a dental filling is needed to restore the tooth. The decayed or injured tooth will be removed, cleaned, and filled with a composite filling, that can be matched to the color of your existing tooth. We use no amalgam in our office.

Root Planing & Scaling

Should you have any signs of periodontal disease, a thorough cleaning will be done that might include scaling or root planing in order to remove any plaque or tartar.

Crowns

Crowns, sometimes called caps, are coverings that surround your entire tooth. Crowns are used to cover asymmetrical teeth or teeth with cracks, discoloration, or other imperfections. Crowns offer extra support to the teeth that are weak or damaged and make your teeth much more durable. These are usually long-lasting options. Our crowns are metal free made from Zirconia which is the hardest known ceramic in the industry. Zirconia provides the natural contours and shade of your teeth.

Extractions

An extraction is when a patient has a tooth removed from their mouth. Extractions are performed for a variety of reasons, such as tooth decay that has ruined enough of a patient’s tooth structure and a restoration is no longer an option. Other reasons include removing impacted (wisdom teeth) or problematic teeth.

Root Canals

Root canal therapy is needed when a cavity has reached the pulp of a tooth causing an infection of the nerve, or when severe trauma has affected the tooth. But once the pulp has become infected, it must be treated to avoid further issues since it cannot heal by itself.

Bridges

Bridges can be utilized when tooth loss occurs due to gum disease, decay, or injury. With bridges, your dentist will close any gaps in your mouth. The bridge looks and acts just like natural teeth, is permanently cemented, and helps to maintain the position of the rest of your teeth. Our Bridges are metal made of Zirconia or porcelain fused to metal.

Implants

Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement of your natural teeth. Dental implants don’t require reducing other teeth , as a tooth-supported bridge does. Because nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, more of your own teeth are left intact improving long-term oral health.

Pinhole Surgery

Pinhole surgery is a technique used to restore receding gums back to their nature height.
With the new pinhole surgery technique (PST) receding gums can be repaired without the use of traditional surgery that includes cutting, grafting and stitching. The pinhole surgical technique takes just a few minutes per treated tooth, with virtually no pain and no downtime.
